Frequently Asked Questions

FindMeOpponent lets players create and join skill-based challenges and tournaments for games like League of Legends and LiChess, with support for 1v1 and team formats. For IRL sports (e.g., tennis, football, padel), we provide matchmaking, results capture, and rankings.

  1. Create or accept a challenge and set game rules (mode, time, entry fee).
  2. Funds are locked from participants until the match is completed.
  3. Winner is determined via linked game match (online) or referee (IRL).
  4. Prize is distributed automatically minus a small platform commission.

Click Sign Up, verify your email, then complete the final registration (first name, last name, country code). You can set or update your nickname and password after email verification.

Go to your profile and add your game nickname. We validate via each game’s API (e.g., LiChess profile link, LoL summoner checks). If validation fails, ensure your nickname and region are correct and that your profile isn’t private (when required).

Yes. After verifying your email, you can update your nickname and password in Account > Settings. Some changes may require re-validation with the game API.

Open Create Challenge, pick your game and mode (1v1, 2v2, etc.), set entry fee and rules, and submit. You’ll get a lobby link (for online) or a fixture (for IRL). Others can match it, or you can send a Direct Challenge to a specific user.

A Direct Challenge lets you invite a specific user by username. They receive an actionable notification (Accept/Decline). If accepted, we run the same checks as normal acceptance (nickname validation, balance, team checks) before locking funds and starting.

  • Prompt timing: Shown immediately when the challenge ends (visible ~20 seconds).
  • 1v1: Both players must accept.
  • Teams (leader-paid): Leaders accept for their teams.
  • Teams (individually paid): All members must accept for both teams.
  • If everyone required accepts, a new challenge with identical settings is created.

If the opponent doesn’t join the lobby or an inactivity timeout triggers, the system can cancel or award a no-show loss per the rules. Locked funds are released or paid accordingly. Check the challenge page for the exact timeout window and auto-loss policy.

  • Leader-paid: The team leader covers the team’s entry. Only the leader needs sufficient balance and accepts on behalf of the team.
  • Individually paid: Each member pays their own entry; all must have enough available balance and Leader must accept to start.

We enforce minimum team size per mode and ensure each participant has a valid game nickname for the selected game. Missing or invalid nicknames block acceptance until fixed.

  • Minimum deposit: $5 (or local equivalent).
  • Minimum withdrawal: $10 (or local equivalent).
  • Instant payout: Available with a small extra fee.
  • Standard payout: No extra fee beyond processor costs (if any).

When you join a challenge, the entry fee moves from Available to Locked. After the match completes, Locked funds are released—either to your balance (if you win) or consumed (if you lose). Canceled or invalid matches release Locked funds back to Available.

To comply with AML requirements, we generally withdraw to the same method you used to deposit (saved as a token). You can add a bank method via Stripe; some methods may require additional checks.

We take a small commission from the completed challenge to keep the platform running. Example: two users stake €10 each (pool €20) → 10% fee (€2) → winner receives €18.

We create your Stripe Express account the first time you attempt to withdraw. You’ll complete any required onboarding (KYC) before payouts are enabled.

KYC/AML checks are required by payment networks and regulations to keep payouts safe and compliant. You only need to do this when you first withdraw or when required by law.

Payout currency follows your default currency set during Stripe verification. Availability varies by region and payout method. The withdrawal page will show the options available to you.

Yes. We support League and Cup formats, progression brackets, rematches when defined by rules, and automated reward distribution when a tournament finishes.

Organizers can make tournaments public for open sign-ups or private/invite-only. Private tournaments can be shared via a link or direct notifications.

  • Online: We verify via the game’s match link/ID where possible.
  • IRL: Results are submitted by players or referees at approved venues.
  • Disputes: Use the dispute button on the challenge within the allowed time. Provide screenshots/links. Repeated cheating attempts lead to penalties or bans.

If no opponent has joined yet, you can cancel and your locked funds are released. After an opponent joins and the lock-in starts, cancellation is subject to the rules (e.g., mutual cancel, timeout, admin review).

We use real-time notifications . Direct challenges arrive with Accept/Decline buttons. We re-send important notifications if they’re not acknowledged so you don’t miss a match.

Leaderboards track performance across supported games and IRL sports. Winning challenges and tournaments increases your rank. Some boards are seasonal; check each board for its rules and reset dates.

You can propose time/venue or pick from approved venues. Players (or a referee) submit the score with photos if needed. Disputes can be escalated to support with evidence.

  • Verify your nickname for the selected game is set and valid.
  • Ensure you have enough available balance (not just locked).
  • If it’s a team challenge (individually paid), confirm all teammates have balance and have accepted.
  • Look for any open notifications requiring your action.

We support modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari). If you see layout issues (e.g., logo shift in Safari), try refreshing cache or updating the browser. Report persistent issues via Support with a screenshot.

Payments are processed via Stripe; we use tokens and do not store full card or bank details. We follow GDPR principles and only collect data necessary to provide services and comply with regulations.

Use the in-app help or email support@findmeopponent.com. For disputes, open from the challenge page to include context. We aim to reply within one business day; urgent match issues are prioritized.
